Suzano establishes the “Suzano Innovability Scholarship” at Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Shanghai, July 11, 2024 – Suzano, the world’s leading market pulp producer, today announces the establishment of the “Suzano Innovability Scholarship” at Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s China-UK Low Carbon College (LCC). Established in 2017, LCC is focused on research and education in low carbon energy and environment, carbon finance, carbon management and low carbon cities.

This scholarship will recognize outstanding postgraduate students who excel in sustainable development research and studies in 2025 and 2026. In the coming months, Suzano and LCC will launch and deliver a sustainability training program for young talents, leaders and professionals.

The partnership constitutes an important part of Suzano’s global initiative to invest US$100 million in the coming years to strengthen sustainability practices across all regions and prepare the next generation of scientists and business leaders to tackle environmental and societal challenges.

This scholarship is the first of its kind Suzano has established in Asia, and it coincides with Suzano’s centenary and the 50th anniversary of China and Brazil establishing diplomatic relations this year.
